Voting in Election

Goals & Values
of the
39th
Representative District's
Democratic
Party

The Democratic Party of the 39th District (area in and around Seaford and Blades) is the local extension of Delaware’s state-level Democratic Party organization. The principal goal of the 39th RD's Democratic Party is to support and strengthen Democrats living in the District and to promote and build Party membership. Additional goals include: building enthusiastic volunteers for service and electoral work; organizing and providing support to local, state, and national Democratic Party candidates and elected officials; serving the District’s communities; and educating District residents concerning voting processes and procedures.

The values we practice are in concurrence with Democratic Party principles at the county, state, and national level. All District residents deserve:

  • enjoying their lives with as few barriers to opportunity as possible

  • having local, county, state, and national government officials and organizations that prioritize transparency and communication

  • accessing and affording high-quality education from pre-K through post-secondary schools and lifelong learning opportunities

  • living, playing, and working conditions that include clean air and water systems and community leaders who recognize and fight to reverse the local impacts of climate change

  • being healthy (through access to local affordable care for physical and mental health) and safe (through reasonable gun safety regulations, community policing and criminal justice reform, and funding for firefighters and other first responders)
